Iran

In Persian, Iran (AKA Persia) means “the Land of the Aryans.” It is also officially the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran is the second-largest country in the Middle East (western Asia) and the 18th-largest in the world. Iran is bounded on the north by ArmeniaAzerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and the Caspian Sea, on the East by Afghanistan and Pakistan, on the South by the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf, and on the West by Iraq and Turkey.

With a population of over 79.92 million (and counting), Iran is the world's 18th-most-populous country. It has a young demography with more than half of its population under 35. The capital of Iran is Tehran, where the city itself hosts approximately 8 million people. After Tehran, the most populated cities in Iran are Mashhad, Isfahan, Tabriz, Shiraz, Ahvaz and Kermanshah.

The official language of Iran is Farsi (Persian). Farsi derives from ancient Persian, with an admixture of many Arabic words. Parts of its population speak their ethnic languages besides Farsi. Azerbaijani (18), Kurdish (10), Mazandarani (7), Luri (6), and Arabic (2) are the other languages in Iran. Transnet has leveraged its geographical advantage to be the first LSP in the world to develop the largest community of native Persian (Farsi) linguists.

The official religion of Iran is Islam. Iran uses the Solar Hijri Calendar with its origin dating back to the beginning of the Persian Empire (550 BC). There are several major religious minorities in Iran.  Christians and Armenians are the largest. Smaller groups include Jews and Zoroastrians. Zoroastrians, Jews, and Christians are officially recognized and protected by law.

The official currency is Iranian Rial (IRR) and all notes are printed in Iranian Rial. But in daily life, locals almost always talk about Toman. Whatever the sum is in Iranian Rial, delete one of its zeroes and you will have the price in Toman and vice versa. In the meantime, 1 USD is around 38,000.00 IRR. US dollar and Euro are both highly popular in Iran and we also offer our services in both currencies. Here is our price list.
